what is alpha?
The alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith.It consists of 15 Sessions covering such topics as:

Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus die?
Why and how do I pray?
Why and how should I read the Bible?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?
How can I resist evil?
Does God heal today?
What about the Church?
It originated in an Anglican Church (Holy Trinity, Brompton) but is now supported and operated by all the main Christian denominations and networks.
the alpha format
- Each Session starts with a meal. A brief talk/presentation is then given and this is followed by small group discussion.
- The atmosphere is relaxed and non-threatening and provides an environment in which no question is too simple or too hostile.
who is alpha for?
Alpha is designed primarily for:
- Non-Christians (or those unsure whether or not they are Christians) wanting to investigate the Christian faith.
- New Christians wanting to add content to their faith.
- Christians wanting to brush up on the basics.
what does alpha cost?
There is no charge for the Course, although contributions to the cost of the food are always appreciated.
